OSI's Applied Economics Education program is in conjunction with Junior Achievement (JA)
Mission statement
The mission of JA-Azerbaijan is to improve the overall quality of economics education in the country.
Achievements
- OSI and Exxon supported 8 university teams from Azerbaijan in the Hewlett Packard Global Business Challenge (HPGBC).
- The HPGBC is an annual business simulation competition sponsored by Hewlett Packard and JA. The HPGBC simulation gives incentive for young people around the world to start thinking as managers.
- The HPGBC project is one of the first steps in establishing a Junior Achievement program in Azerbaijan.
Partner organizations
Junior Achievement (JA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization.
- JA offers sequential business education programs for students beginning at age six through to university level.
- The programs are funded by corporate, individual, public and international development agency contributions, and grants from OSI-Azerbaijan.
- JA activities in Azerbaijan started in 1999 and are expected to grow.
